In this short video I take a PS3 apart and fix it by baking it in the oven. I would not recommend that anyone does this without proper supervision or the experience to know what you are doing. While this MAY fix your system, you can also end up destroying the motherboard, starting a fire, breaking your oven, releasing the Kraken and may other bad things.

What I basically do is strip the system down to it’s bare motherboard and bake it in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, let it cool and reassemble. I have done this repair before on this unit so I could retrieve my saved games off of it. It worked for that and as a movie machine but playing a game for 30minutes was too much for it. I’m actually surprised it worked after baking it a 2nd time. Who knows how long it will last this time.
