NieR: Automata – A (late) Gamers Review

Let’s make this clear right off, I adore this game. I do. So if you want to just cut to the chase and move on, yes I recommend this game. If you want to know why, or just want to learn more about the game then let’s do this. Be warned, there is a lot to cover here so sit back, relax, grab a drink and read on.

I didn’t even think twice about this game when it came out. I thought “Who cares?!” the first one had mixed reviews at best, why on earth is there another one? It wasn’t even a blip on my radar except for really enjoying the videos that Outside Xbox/Extra were putting out about it. I laughed at the videos, thought maybe it looked ok, if a bit boring and life went on.

Dark Souls 3 – How to Find: Greirat’s Ashes in the Grand Archives (Lothric Castle)

Took me a few days to find them! Once I did I knew I had to make a video as there was literally ZERO videos showing this, from the bonfire, on YouTube.

Let’s Look At: Backplates on Graphics Cards – Do They Actually Cool Them Down?

Stephen tests if adding a backplate to a graphics card actually affects the temperature of it.

Can a tablet run Dark Souls 3?

Today Stephen installs and runs Dark Souls 3 on the original Surface Pro Tablet. It ran Tomb Raider, Dark Souls 2 and Crysis like a champ but will a brand new release cripple it? Let’s see if the Surface has finally met it’s match!

Recorded via HDMI out and an Elgato capture device.

Dark Souls 3 – First Impressions

Let’s take a quick look at Dark Souls 3. Not a full review, I still have many, many hours left to put into this game before I can offer an intelligent review of it.

Salt and Sanctuary Review.

It’s no surprise I like this game. I’ve posted many boss fights with more to come as well as talked about my adoration for this game on Monday Vlog #4. I finally finished the game and am ready to talk about it. I may mention Dark Souls many times, not unlike other reviews, so get ready for that.

So why do I like this game? Simply put it takes just about everything that the Souls franchise does right and accurately translates that into a 2D action, platformer RPG. Right from the outset you can tell this is going to be a game that requires precision, great hand to eye coordination and lots of patience.

Let’s Look At: GUN

Stephen digs into GUN and talks about why it’s one of his favorite games of all time.

Fallout 4: Day One Review and Adventure

So it’s not Day One. However these are still my first impressions of the game. The reason it’s not day one is because I needed to take an extra day to fully get my thoughts in line. My Fallout 4 experience began months ago where, as soon as I could, I pre-ordered a copy from Gamestop. Paid in full as I always do. Monday, November 9th rolled around and I was very excited to go to the midnight launch and pick up my copy so I could jump right in. I had to work the next day so I wanted to get some time in prior to that so I could start working on this piece.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2

It dawned on me the other day that I have made quite a few videos on Revelations 2 but never an actual review. In fact if you do a search for “Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Vita” my stuff typically comes up. However I’ve never really talked about the game itself. So let’s fix that now. Here is my full review on Resident Evil Revelations 2.  And in true Daily Goat fashion I will concentrate more on the experience than the technical side of things.

The game takes place over four episodes, each one split into two chapters. The first part of each episode has you playing as Claire Redfield and the second as Barry Burton. Longtime fans of the series will instantly know these two. While it’s not necessary to know the background on the characters to enjoy the game, having a history with the series will definitely help with some of the story, especially the rare jokes and one-liners the game sneaks in.
