Gotham Knights: A Gamer’s Review

I went into Gotham Knights with enthusiasm and a goal to get lost in the game. I recently installed an RTX 3070ti and was looking for a new game so I could crank the graphics and put it to the test. Gotham Knights isn’t a graphical powerhouse, though it looks fine. However, it’s new and has Ray Tracing, so I was all in. Paired with my i9-9900k it all but held a locked 60fps.

For the most part it didn’t waiver but there were areas where it would dip into the 40 and 50s. Occasionally it would dip to 1fps. More on that later as it wasn’t a one-time thing. But I’m not really one to judge a game on its graphics. Let’s talk about the game itself and my experience with it. From opening scene to rolling the credits I played a lot of this game and walked away with mixed feelings on it.

Saint’s Row 2022 Reboot Review

The new Saint’s Row game is one that a lot of people have issues with. I’m not one of them. I’m not going to pretend it’s a better game than it is, but I don’t think that it deserves all the hate it’s been getting. And I’m going to spend the next few minutes discussing why that is. Do I expect to change anyone’s mind? No, not really but I enjoy the series, enjoyed the game and it inspired me to make a review for it, so here we are.

Let’s Play Thymesia, a Bloodborne-esq souls like.

Driven by a being a sucker for “budget” games and a fondness for the Souls series I decided to give Thymesia a try. I knew nothing about it other than it’s a souls-like game. It’s very similar to Bloodborne which is, controversially I’m sure, one of my least favorite games in the Souls series. So will I walk away enjoying this one? Let’s see.

Terminator Resistance: A Gamer’s Review

I really enjoyed Terminator Resistance for what it was. I’m also glad I got it during the recent Winter Sale on Steam for $29 as opposed to what I was going to do and get it on console at the full $60 price. Luckily it released on PC before it hit consoles, saving me some money, an important consideration when looking at Terminator Resistance. It’s currently 2020 and this game was released in late 2019. We have certain expectations for games now such as cutting edge graphics, high resolution textures and photo realistic human characters. Terminator Resistance has none of that. This game looks like it could have been released during the 360/PS3 generation, and had it been, it would have been a great looking game for that era.

Vampyr so Far…

I was tempted to call it a flawed masterpiece but there are two issues with that. The first is that I have not completed it yet and the second is that it’s not a masterpiece. However I am having fun with it despite it’s flaws.

Vampyr is a 3rd person action RPG set in London during the Spanish flu epidemic. You play as a vampyr, er I mean vampire, who has been recently turned and trying to still be a good person and help take care of the patients in the hospital you now work for while also solving the mystery of who turned you and made you kill your own sister.
