Gravity Rush

Let’s be honest, many Vita games that are born on the Vita never really make it much further in life. But Gravity Rush is different. Sony is releasing an HD version of Gravity rush on PS4 as well as making a full sequel to the game. The bad news? The sequel will be PS4 only, no Vita version of the sequel to the game that got it’s legs on the Vita. But I suppose that is not too surprising. It should also be noted that the game was originally going to be a PS3 title but was moved over to the Vita.

But this article isn’t about the sequel, no it’s about the original title released on February 9th, 2012. It is a third person action adventure game. You play the role of Kat, which is a very appropriate name given that you get your gravity bending powers from a little black cat that follows you around.  Kat is a young, blonde and very spunky heroine that is found by the afore mentioned cat and given the power to basically ignore the standard rules of gravity. She also has a pretty mean kick.

Let’s Look At: Grand Theft Auto (series)

Title Image Courtesy of Windows10free.org

September 17th, 2003 is a day that many will regard as a great day in gaming. That is the day Grand Theft Auto V was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. I could not have cared less. I tried, but it was impossible. The game was not on my radar or care meter. The reason is because in two months time the PlayStation 4 would be released and with it, surely a new-gen version of GTAV right? Well yes, but not until a year later and even longer for the PC release. But even then I didn’t pick it up, at least not yet. I was Grand Theft Auto’d out.

Eventually I did and rediscovered why this series is still successful. Much like war, GTA never changes. The same core gameplay you know and love is present in each and every game making any version easy to pick up and play. It’s the extra stuff they do that make each new version what it is. This is not a review of all the titles in the series or even an in-depth look. It’s just a written account of my history and thoughts of the series.

Let’s Look At: The Original Xbox

Stephen takes a look at the Original Xbox. This is his second time owning one even though the first time shouldn’t count. He talks about the system itself, his random game collection for it and the bittersweet experience that helped him grow his small collection in a single day.

Let’s Look At: Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox 360.

Yup I bought it on last gen’s system seeing as I have yet to take the leap to an Xbox One. This game was actually going to be the one to force my hand to pick up an XBOne but once they announced it was coming to PS4 next year, and being released on 360 at the same time as the XBOne version, I decided to just pick up the 360 copy and wait for next year to get the “better” version. The PS4 version will likely include DLC and other stuff I’m sure.

Fallout 4 – Dogmeat, the Master of Unlocking. (Easy Cryolator)

Is glitching not working for you? That’s cool. Dogmeat is actually a master at unlocking. Here he is breaking into that pesky Cryolator case for me and letting me get it early on in the game. It’s not cheating if HE unlocked it right?

Rise of the Tomb Raider Graphics vs the Original on Xbox 360

So after playing the new Rise of the Tomb Raider I kept thinking that the original looked better. I think it does, maybe because the original was made for the system and the new one was made for the next-gen systems and then down-scaled. Either way the new one looks fantastic if not a little washed out compared to the old one.

Fallout 4: Day One Review and Adventure

So it’s not Day One. However these are still my first impressions of the game. The reason it’s not day one is because I needed to take an extra day to fully get my thoughts in line. My Fallout 4 experience began months ago where, as soon as I could, I pre-ordered a copy from Gamestop. Paid in full as I always do. Monday, November 9th rolled around and I was very excited to go to the midnight launch and pick up my copy so I could jump right in. I had to work the next day so I wanted to get some time in prior to that so I could start working on this piece.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2

It dawned on me the other day that I have made quite a few videos on Revelations 2 but never an actual review. In fact if you do a search for “Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Vita” my stuff typically comes up. However I’ve never really talked about the game itself. So let’s fix that now. Here is my full review on Resident Evil Revelations 2.  And in true Daily Goat fashion I will concentrate more on the experience than the technical side of things.

The game takes place over four episodes, each one split into two chapters. The first part of each episode has you playing as Claire Redfield and the second as Barry Burton. Longtime fans of the series will instantly know these two. While it’s not necessary to know the background on the characters to enjoy the game, having a history with the series will definitely help with some of the story, especially the rare jokes and one-liners the game sneaks in.
