Driven by a being a sucker for “budget” games and a fondness for the Souls series I decided to give Thymesia a try. I knew nothing about it other than it’s a souls-like game. It’s very similar to Bloodborne which is, controversially I’m sure, one of my least favorite games in the Souls series. So will I walk away enjoying this one? Let’s see.
The Original Surface Pro has been a great machine, but now a Surface Pro 3 i7 jumps in the ring to do battle with modern games.
Stephen is about to go on a plane trip and wants to take his games with him. Can he use his first generation Surface Pro to play some modern games….and have fun with them?
Let’s take a look at how 2015 has stacked up so far. I haven’t played every game released this year but I have played every game I wanted to play so this is my personal list. Expect to see a lot of PS4 titles as that has been what I’ve played most of this year.
I’m breaking this down in my Favorites, Surprises and Disappointments. First I’m going to talk about my disappointments for this year so far and move on to what have been my favorite titles in 2015. Remember, just because a game isn’t listed does not mean I didn’t like it, these are just the ones that left some sort of impression on me over other games for one reason of another.
In anticipation for Bloodborne I fired up Dark Souls 2 and decided to jump into New Game Plus. I had no idea this game had Falconers in it. I immediately found out.
I also found out about the increased damage. While my build was still capable of dealing substantial damage my character was no longer capable of taking it. I would go down easy, much easier than I expected. But that is ok, it challenged me to take my build into a different route. I decided to focus more on defense this time around since offense was pretty well sorted at this point.

Top Five Games of the 2014
So before we get into it, let’s talk about why I chose these five games. It’s easy really. They may not be the best games of 2014 to everyone but when I laid out all the games released this year that I’ve played, and that’s a lot of games, these were the five that stood out to me. They stood out because they left the most lasting impression on me, when I started writing about all the games, these five had me on a roll, reliving my experiences and feelings I had when I played them.
So whether or not these are the five I had the most fun with, these are the ones that had the biggest impact on me as a gamer. And that’s fair enough.
