My SNES Classic Pre-Order has NOT been cancelled by Wal-Mart. [UPDATED]

UPDATE: They finally cancelled it. The original story is below.

It was Friday night, I was in bed watching LivePD when I got the text from Clifford. “Pre-Orders are Live!” with a link to Wal-Mart. I sprang into action, trying to pre-order from my phone. I was having issues so I got up and ran to my office to hop online using my desktop.

Success! I snagged one. It was glorious. I sent a tweet out to let others know they were live. I went back to the site to see if they were still up a few minutes later and Walmart had already taken it down. But my email hit that my order was successful. I rejoiced and slept well that night.

I have a problem with keeping empty technology boxes.

I have a serious problem with holding onto boxes. I fully admit it. Anytime I buy a new piece of hardware, a console or really anything game or technology related I save the box. I have no plans to sell the thing but I like having the original box “just in case”.

Also I have some irrational fear that if I throw the box away then whatever I have becomes less “special” and I don’t know why that bothers me. It shouldn’t. I rationalize saving the boxes for the consoles as it will help when I go to move someday and can now pack them up in a protective box made just for them. And truthfully that’s what started it.

NieR: Automata – A (late) Gamers Review

Let’s make this clear right off, I adore this game. I do. So if you want to just cut to the chase and move on, yes I recommend this game. If you want to know why, or just want to learn more about the game then let’s do this. Be warned, there is a lot to cover here so sit back, relax, grab a drink and read on.

I didn’t even think twice about this game when it came out. I thought “Who cares?!” the first one had mixed reviews at best, why on earth is there another one? It wasn’t even a blip on my radar except for really enjoying the videos that Outside Xbox/Extra were putting out about it. I laughed at the videos, thought maybe it looked ok, if a bit boring and life went on.
